The Aera Team

We’re a small team of NYC-based therapists who believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not a performance. We’ve been on the other side of the couch. We know how hard it is to ask for help (and how good it can feel when that help actually lands). One of our favorite moments is when you start realizing that change is happening.

The other woman has long black hair, red tinted round glasses, a black sweatshirt with red writing, baggy blue jeans, and white sneakers.

How We Work

  • We’re not blank-slate therapists who sit silently and let you do all the emotional heavy lifting.

Each of us brings clinical expertise and real personality into the room. We’re curious, collaborative, feedback-friendly, and not afraid to ask bold questions (the kind that actually lead somewhere). You’ll get warmth, structure, and the occasional well-placed laugh because therapy can be both meaningful and human.

We also come from different backgrounds and training paths, which means we have range. Whether you're working through anxiety, disordered eating, complicated family dynamics, identity, grief, trauma, or just feeling stuck — we’ve got someone who can meet you where you are.

  • Choosing a therapist can feel like dating but even more vulnerable. Just reach out and we'll match you with someone based on your needs, goals, and vibe. And if it’s not the right fit? No hard feelings. We’ll help you find someone who is.

  • Totally. Therapy should feel like a good match, and part of that is giving you the freedom to change things up. We love feedback. We want you to feel comfortable speaking up, and we’re happy to help with a smooth transition if needed.

  • Yes! Maureen offers sessions in both English and Spanish. If that's something you're looking for, let us know when you reach out.
