I'm Emma, a licensed mental health counselor with a Masters in Counseling from Brooklyn College, clinical supervisor, and the founder of Aera Therapy. My approach is warm, vocal, and collaborative. I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods silently. I’ll offer reflections, ask real questions, and help you make sense of the parts of yourself that feel confusing or hard to sit with.

If you're here, you're probably feeling stuck in some way. You may be burned out, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that don’t feel great but are hard to shift. I get it. I work with people who are incredibly self-aware but still find themselves spiraling, people-pleasing, or second-guessing every decision.

Together, we’ll take an honest look at what’s been keeping you stuck. Whether it’s family dynamics, old trauma, obsessive thought loops, or the inner critic that never seems to shut up. We’ll work to soften the self-judgment, shift patterns that aren’t working, and build something more grounded in self-trust.

I pull from years of experience working in hospital and private practice settings, and I specialize in trauma, anxiety, relational challenges, substance use, and disordered eating. My work is informed by curiosity, cultural humility, and a deep belief that therapy should feel like a real relationship—not a performance.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll find me caring for my jungle of houseplants, digging through record bins, or wandering a new NYC neighborhood in search of good pasta.
