Maureen Guilbot, LMHC
I’m Maureen, a bilingual therapist with master’s degrees in Psychological Counseling and Education from Columbia University, and a concentration in Bilingual Latina/o Mental Health. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish, and bring a multicultural, strengths-based lens to all of my work.
Finding the right therapist can be hard, especially if you’re used to minimizing what you feel, navigating multiple cultural identities, or trying to explain things that don’t always translate. My goal is to make therapy a space where you feel seen, supported, and understood—in whatever language or pace feels right to you.
I specialize in helping clients navigate grief and loss, anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, trauma, and major life transitions. I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, and older adults, and I adapt my approach to meet you where you are. Whether you’re holding deep sadness, feeling stuck in stress, or looking for new ways to cope, I’ll help you identify what’s working, build new tools, and move forward with more self-trust.
My clinical style blends evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care with narrative and psychodynamic frameworks. We’ll talk honestly, find what feels helpful, and build on your existing strengths.
At its best, therapy should feel like a safe place to be fully yourself. I lead with compassion, cultural humility, and a belief that healing can honor where you come from while making space for where you’re going.
Outside of sessions, I’m tending to my (probably too many) plants or working on my latest knitting project—slowly but proudly.
